Pretty color (I purchased the raspberry), soft knit, and very comfortable to wear. I put it on immediately after it was delivered and I don’t want to take it off. Nicely warm, and soft against the skin. It does have a bit of a peak at the crown but hopefully that will flatten out. The label says that this was made in the USA. Definitely has the USA highquality. If you are looking for a warm and comfortable cap, especially if you have very short hair (or no hair at all), think of trying this one. It is just about perfect.
In the way of a stocking cap, or beanie, the Carhartt variety is a very good choice. It is inexpensive but very well built, holds its shape and doesn't fall apart like a lot of cheap beanies. I currently own four of these (Black, Light Brown, Dark Brown and Heather Gray) and all of them keep their color, their shape and their warmth without issue. And for $10, these are about as good a deal as you will find for a highquality stocking cap.
For those of you that are bald, or that shave your head, keep one thing in mind... when your head is all smooth from a fresh shave, this cap will have a slightly difficult time staying on your dome. It will do it, but it will work for it. However, all of the other beanies I've had don't even come close to staying on my squeaky clean scalp after a fresh shave, so this is another reason I love this beanie as much as I do.
I've had multiple stocking caps & similar type head covers that have been too short, During use, they crawl up and uncover my ears. This Carhartt watch hat is quite long, fits snugly without crushing your head and stays that way during use. From crown to bottom it measures 13 3/4 inches long. The weave is tight keeping wind & snow at bay. I highly recommend this highquality Carhartt hat that is not a knock-off.
My husband loves anything Carhartt, and I can see why......they make highquality work gear. I couldn't tell you how many times I've washed this hat, about once or twice a week all winter, and it's still in great condition. My hubby wore this everyday this winter, only trading off with his green Carhartt hat when it needed a wash. Great price, excellent quality!
Took this hat with me to Iceland this winter. It performed perfectly, protecting my head from icy winds and temperatures as low as -12% C (the lowest temperature I experienced there). This was with 90+% humidity as well (high humidity makes cold air feel colder). The hat is thick without being bulky, isn’t at all scratchy, and has a quality feel to it. At $10, it’s a bargain.
Generally, Carhartt makes highquality products and this hat is no different. We have several around the house for winter use. They are very warm and comfortable. In our house, they get a lot of use yet last a long time, much longer than other brands purchased. Highly recommend.
I used to have a thick wool beanie i picked up in northern michigan. Left that one on ski trip and havent been able to find that quality again. I figured this was a cheap risk and got it. I am not disappointed. I used to think acrylic hats were never good enough below freezing but this has worked well in the wicked 2015 winter we are having. It blocks the wind even below freezing temps.
As previous reviewer stated, the cloth is high density and you can't see much gap when held up to light.
I love this hat! It's so warm and the color is very pretty! It is not a soft hat so it makes my forehead a bit itchy after a while but the warmth is worth it! Very highquality and I can't wait to get more colors!
I love the highquality and fit of these hats. They were purchased for my co-workers to replace our company issued hats that are nowhere near as warm as the Carhatt hats. This color was no longer available from a local sporting goods store.
Carhartt products are always good quality, and I love these inexpenive, warm watch hats; I wear them year round, even on occasional chilly summer nights. or as a night cap in cold weather. I've collected all my favorite colors... mix and match!
